Tim Lyles was telling me about this really interesting website called kiva.org. Basically, it is an organization that selects people around the world to apply for micro-loans for their small business. Then people can go on the website and search through all the people applying for loans, and give out a loan. The money is all paid back usually within 6 months to a year. It seems like a really cool concept…just thought you all may be interested.
He also mentioned that PBS did a story about it. Here is a link: http://www.pbs.org/frontlineworld/stories/uganda601/
(i haven’t actually watched it, so i hope that’s the right one!)
