I haven’t been there before, but I’ve heard good things about a store called Practical Goods. They are at 1561 Randolph, St. Paul, and open 11-6 daily. I have their flyer that says they sell “high quality second-hand goods; useful and modestly priced.” They sell clothes, cookware, baby clothes and toys, etc.

Ax-man is a surplus store, with 3 locations in the cities. They have used and “new” items, however their new items are miscellaneous odds and ends that would end up in a landfill if not there… (personally, I’d still count those items as acceptable buys.)
